Why Do We Worship On  Sunday:

Many  will no doubt wonder why we hold our worship services on Sunday.  There was a time when we felt that the strongest doctrine in the Bible was the  Seventh-day Sabbath(Saturday). However, after we left Adventism we began studying our Bibles without trying to (subconously) bend it to Adventist doctrine. We also were finally not afraid to read the answers well studied Christians give for not worshiping on Saturday. To our shock we found that they presented some factual details we had never heard before. Also, more shocking still was that they fit together with scripture like a perfectly fitting puzzle.  Even more importantly, after studying the Bible, it became clear that if one keeps the sabbath to be saved or believes that they will  lose salvation because of not keeping the sabbath that Christ's blood no longer avails them any benifit. Yes, we know what you are thinking my Sabatarian friend. You are thinking that this is crazy. That this guy really is far out. That is what I too would have thought at one time. But may I ask you, will you be willing to examine the evidence and see for yourself? After all, truth should have nothing to fear in examining facts.

In my sermon series Forty Years in Adventism (above) we touch on my experience of learning the facts. Unfortunaty, I only can introduce you to the resources on this topic in one sermon. I can't even scratch the serface. But I have three books listed below for you to download. They give all the facts and I highly recommend that you read all of them. They are entitled Sabbath in Christ, by Dale RatzlaffThe Sabbath and the Lord's Day, and The Sabbath in Genesis (Read last as it is only a supplment to other books and depends on knowledge from other two books).

Pastor David Cloud's Book On Adventism

Bro. Cloud, upon first accepting Christ, as a hippie in the 1970s and started his search to find the best church to join. He ran across a book by Adventist Pastor Vandaman. He also was investigating the very conservative Independant Baptists.  He had no confidence in his abilities as a new Christian to make his choice and with face turned toward God cried out for His help to lead him into all truth (John 7:17). God began showing him problems with Adventism that eventually caused him to choose the Independant Baptists. However, he went through at least two Adventist Bible study series (including an advanced course) and read one or two books as well as other material. He studied as only one, who with his first love to Christ burning hot and his personal eternal salvation at stake, can do. After his decision he wrote a book entitled Avoiding the Snare of Seventh Day Adventism detailing his reasons for his decision. We found his book very helpful in clarifing the Gospel, standards, and how Adventist doctrine relates to it. Bro. Cloud's Gospel (the Bible's Gospel) is not without producing high standards. He has very high standards in areas of dress, music, etc. He is aware of the dangers of Romanism, Ecumanism, and the modern versions. In fact he became an expert on all of these issues and has spent his life warning God's people to live a life separate unto God.  Bro. Cloud used to charge for his book, but due to his wish to warn as many as possible, he now offers it to be freely downloaded. We invite you to use the button below to get your free  book.

Free Book Investigating Former Prominent Adventist Minister

After leaving Adventism I soon discovered that the information that I had received in my Adventist education regarding some former Adventist ministers was slanted, and in some instances greatly distorted. When I was finally willing to be fair and read what they had to say in their own defense, and to look at the facts that others had written after their investigations in regards to these men, it became evident that some of them had been mis-represented. Perhaps no other person that has left Adventism, was ever more mis-represented than Pastor Canright. Generations of Adventists have recoiled in horror at just the name. I was one of that number and would not even look at anything written by him until after I had been out of Adventism for some time. Even then I would not read anything written by him on certain subjects. But I have to ask, does that sound like the Christian way? Are we to condemn a man without ever allowing him to make his defense? While I am not saying that I agree with Canright on every point, and I wish he had been a little stronger in some areas, I think it is without question that he has been unfairly treated and was actually a man who sought truth at a great sacrifice to himself. Yes, I know that many of my sabbatarian friends will ask, what about the testimony of that young girl that was his secretary for a short time? What about the Adventist man who worked with him that gave testimony that he was egotistical and longing for fame. I will ask you, have you ever read his responses to the acusations of Adventists? Have you ever read a book written by an independent nutral person who truely investigated Canright? If not, you really should do so and be fair. You might be surprised. Below is a book written by a nutral investigative reporter who was determined to come to the truth on the case of Canright. Was the Adventist Conference right in their claims regarding him? or were Canright's claims true that he, while not perfect, was a man seeking truth who sacrificed in order to have a clear conscience and stand free of blood on his hands in the final judgment? The book is not that long and I encourage you to read it! You might be surprised and less certain of the acusations that mostly came from Ellen White or those who were highly influenced by her.
